Newborn Addy

Some of our very best friends had their first baby December 31st.  I was blessed to capture Addy within her first few weeks of life.

Sibling Love

I wanted to capture B and his sister while she was still a newborn.  We set out when she was 3 weeks old for Davis Islands both kids in tow.  I had a few shots in mind that I hoped to capture, but after setting up and making a few attempts it began to sprinkle :(  We quickly packed up and got back in the car.  I was discouraged, but the rain only lasted a few minutes, so we stopped on the other side of the island for some impromptu shots.

As you continue to scroll you will see the majority of these photos are candid, but they will be forever cherished.  I especially love the one below.

While the light in this photo is very flat I love the moment caught between my son and my husband.  Since Z has been born B has really become best buds with his dad.

My attempt to get him to love on his sister eventually turned into this.

And of course, this one I have shared previously, but I just love the way B is looking at her.

And while Sam and I tried several times to get Bennett to lift his feet like Zoe's without success, I still adore this shot of my two little's.

Nunez Family Photos

Rebecca is not only a friend of mine, but we share a love for photography.  When we're together we tend to talk about various photos we've taken or how we edit or what we like about various photos and so on.  It only seemed normal to swap family photo shoots.  Here are a few shots I was able to capture of her family.

They are also expecting their second little one, which they just announced this week.  Rebecca found this idea (shot by Jessie Heston Photography) for an announcement shot on Pinterest, so we went for it.

Welcome Baby Palmer

I can remember the joy I experienced when my friend Carolina told me she was pregnant.  We were a part of a prayer group of four women.  It wasn't long after (may have been the same evening) that another member announced she was expecting and then a month later I announced I was expecting.

Several months have passed and now two of the three babes have arrived.  A few weeks ago I was able to capture baby Palmer for Carolina and her family.

I was also able to capture Palmer with his older brother Jack, who is one of my son's friends.

I simply love the truth captured in this photo.  The joy of a toddler and the cries of a baby.

White Family Photos

One Saturday morning in early April I was able to capture some photos for the White family.  They attend our church, but we were only acquaintances prior to our shoot.  Little did I know, Mr. White is a fellow Kentuckian and University of Kentucky grad and Mrs. White and I are both pregnant and due around the same time.

They were complete naturals in front of the camera, which I have learned is really rare.  It is so much easier when you can focus on getting the child to engage the camera versus the child, the mom, and the dad.

Plus, there are few families able (and willing) to meet for a 7:30 a.m. photo shoot.  It wasn't even my idea, but I prefer shooting early in the morning.

Jack wasn't so sure about me taking his photo at first, but once I brought out the chair and momma started making funny faces and noises he was all in.

And if you know me, you know I love backlit photos, so here are probably my two favorites from the session.
