Project 52: Playing Catch Up

I have not posted my Project 52 photos in 5 weeks.....5 weeks!!  Where does the time go?  The good news:  I have been taking a photo each week.  The bad news:  I have not been challenging myself to grow in my photography skills (which was one of my goals through this project).  Oh well, I am going to share some of the sweet moments I have captured during the last 5 weeks knowing that my other goal for this project was to use my "big girl" camera on a more regular basis and stop solely relying on my phone.

Week 17: April 23rd-29th

I have previously shared this photo, but I hosted a Sensory Messy Play Date in our backyard April 29th.  This art work was a result of the ball paint tossing station.

Week 18:  April 30th-May 6th

I took Zoe's 8 month photos.  I really enjoy those faceless shots that allow me to focus on the details.

Week 19:  May 7th-13th

I had the opportunity to photograph baby boy Jonah along with his parents and older sister.

Week 20: May 14th-20th

I took the kids and drove to Nashville to spend a week with my family.  Bennett and my nephew spent the night with my parents on Sunday night.  Zoe and I stayed with my sister, but we went to my parents house Monday morning.  We decided to walk to the pond to look for turtles and goldfish.  My dad thoroughly enjoyed pointing out all of the turtles swimming in the water.

Week 21: May 21st-27th

Wednesday we drove up to Bowling Green to meet my cousin Allison, her daughter Meredith, one of my best friends Amanda, and her children-Emily and Caleb.  We had a wonderful visit (one deserving of it's own post).  I am very sad that I did not take the time to take more photos.  I took several on my phone, but it is just not the same.  However, I did take this one of B and E that I wanted to share.  B wanted to push E and she wasn't so sure.

Project 52: Week 16, Fire Truck and Walkie Talkies

Week 16: April 16th-22nd

We went to Islands Fest on Saturday.  It is a free annual event that Davis Islands hosts.  It is fairly low key, but very enjoyable.  This year Bennett thoroughly enjoyed exploring the fire truck.  He was particularly interested in the walkie talkie.

We left so other kids could explore, but after bouncing in the bounce house, meeting a Penguin mascot, and snatching tons of free food he wanted to climb back into the fire truck.  This time there was a fireman who thought Bennett was as funny as he thinks he is ;)  Both of them seemed to be enjoying their interaction.

Project 52: Week 15, Baby Girl is 7 Months

Week 15: April 9-15

This sweet baby girl turned 7 months at the end of April.  I just took her photos last week and since I didn't do a specific post I thought I would share one here.  She is simply gorgeous and sweet as sugar.

Project 52: Week 14, Baby Feet

Week 14: April 2-8

We are in the season where most of our friends are having their 2nd, if not 3rd children.  Our friends the Shah's welcomed their baby girl Anya a few weeks ago and I had the pleasure of photographing here when she was a week old.  I will share more of her photos once they have been shared with her parents.

Project 52: Week 13, Bennett's Birthday

Week 13- March 26-April 1st

We had a family birthday party for Bennett the weekend after his birthday (hopefully I will get a few of the snapshots posted this week).  Here a few photos taken with my new speed light.  I am still learning how to use it.

It was only appropriate to use Word World cupcake toppers since B loves anything that has to do with letters and thoroughly enjoys the show.

Project 52: Week 12, Boy Cousin Park Play

Week 12: March 19-25

We are more than blessed to live so close to my in-laws and even more blessed to see them at least once a week.  It is really great for my son since he has two older boy cousins that he looks up to.

Project 52: Week 10, A Day In Our Life

10/52 March 6-12

With two little's at home one day seems to run into the next, yet creep by so slowly.  It often seems our routine rarely changes, but life is happening, activities vary, and seasons change.  I decided to loosely capture a day in our life.  I am hoping to do this once a month and will hopefully begin using storyboards, so I don't overload each post with a million photos.

Up at 5 a.m. with little miss.  She went back to sleep around 6:30 a.m. and I spent some time watching videos for a photography class I am taking.

Little man is up and being silly in his bed.  His been battling a sinus infection for over a month now, so nose picking is routine :)

Brother dressed, now it's time to get sis out of bed.

B's eats yogurt for breakfast 99% of the time.  He LOVES it.  He also loves his Word World character toys.

Z's 6 month well baby appointment.  Look at that chubby love!!!

I am so thankful B loves blocks.  He plays with them on a daily basis building everything from make believe friends to letters and numbers.

A little Max and Ruby after quiet time.

It wouldn't be a normal day if B didn't play with letters and numbers.

Project 52: Week 9, Z-girl at 6 months

9/52 February 27-March 5

One of my favorite photos from Zoe's 6 month photo shoot this week.  One of my favorite things about this phase is watching her learn to use her hands.  She fully explores everything she touches.

I will be sharing her 6 month update sometime soon.

Nikon D90, ISO 1600, f/2.8, 1/125 SS, shot at 55 mm

Project 52: Week 8, Dadder and His Boy

8/52 February 20-26

Last week, I did not take the time to upload my photos, so week 8 never got posted.  I have plenty of photos, because my mom and dad came for a visit.  However, most of them were taken with my phone or my mom's point and shoot.

The photo I am sharing is of my dad (aka. Dadder) and Bennett.  My parents had taken B to Toys 'R Us to buy him some earlier birthday presents.  One of his gifts was a bubble gun.  After playing with several toys and working puzzles with Dadder, B asked if he would take him outside to play with the bubble gun.  Of course, he agreed.

It was so wonderful to watch my parents interact with my kids.  My nephews are present during most of our visits which is great, but it was nice for B to have Dadder all to himself.  My dad is the best playmate.  He was when I was a kid and I think he is even better now, if that's possible.

I am so thankful they came to spend time with us in Florida.  Hopefully, I will share photos from our trip to Disney soon.

Project 52: Week 7, Gasparilla Jr. Run

7/52 February 12-19

This past Saturday B ran in his first race.  Okay, it was only 30 yards, but he had a lot of fun and we were very glad we did it.

These were all quick snapshots, but a fun event that I am glad I captured.  I wish I would have video recorded, as the photos don't show his expression very well.

As you can see the parents accompanied the children.  There were various heats according to age and date of birth.  B's group consisted of 2 year olds born in March.
