Light the Palm

A few weeks ago the hubster set out with me to capture some long exposure night photos.  Like most cities there are more opportunities than time.  This is a familiar scene in our city and one that often offers a breath of fresh air when the fast paced city life seems to be getting the best of me.

I am linking up with my sweet friend Branson, Courtney N., and Courtney K. for Still Life Standout.  I am also linking up with another sweet friend Courtney for I Clicked It Up A Notch.  Be sure to head over and visit more entries.

Beautiful Amber, love how the branches are illuminated and the texture on the truck.

This is wonderful! It definitely feels like FL at night! I love that you went out with your tripod to capture some slow shutter speed shots!! The colors look great! Well done!

This is stunning beauty to me, Amber. Passing night-lit sites like this makes me breathe deeply and give thanks for living in this area and for the communities, corporations and families who highlight and share the beauty.

I've tried and failed to capture the sigh of beauty with my point and shoot, but your long exposure captured it perfectly! I will return to this one often. Thank You!

I had a queen palm outside my bedroom window as a girl and I used to fall asleep to the wonderful sound of the fronds swishing against one another. This photo evokes that sigh of relaxation and appreciation.

It also makes me think about how the stunning beauty of some lives has been revealed and highlighted against their backdrop of darkness, pain and suffering.
