Endures FOREVER

A voice says, "Cry Out."
And I said, "What shall I Cry?"

"All people are like grass
and all their faithfulness is like the flowers of the field.
The grass withers and the flowers fall
because the breath of the LORD blows on them.
Surely the people are grass.
The grass withers and the flowers fall

but the word of our God endures FOREVER."
This week in Bible Study Fellowship we studied these verses.  A few questions stretched me in areas I often ignore.  I was asked, "What truths do you learn from these verses about what brings lasting satisfaction in LIFE?"

My brain churned.  My heart churned more.  I could feel it, the Holy Spirit nudging me to dig deep into my own heart, answering the question even if I couldn't find the words to write.  I, eventually settled on three truths, that I wrote, but know there are many more, in the places only God can
see.
  • Relying on God, not people or circumstances brings satisfaction (satisfaction does not equal ease or comfort).
  • People whither and fade, but a life daily lived, striving to obey God's Word is a joyful, glorious one.
  • The LORD is breathing on me: currently the breath of life--reveal His glory until He blows/takes me home.

This is wonderful! I especially LOVE that you've included that satisfaction doesn't equal ease or comfort! Christ didn't say "Follow me and you'll have everything you want and your life will be a piece of cake." He said "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it."

I loved these verses this week as well. There is so much depth to them - it's no wonder we spent an entire lesson on them. These pictures are gorgeous and remind me of God's glory revealed in nature all around us.
