Two Years Young

My baby boy is going to be 2 years old!!  Already.  The saying, the days are slow, but the years fly by are definitely true.  While year 2 has presented its fair share of challenges, it has brought more LAUGHter and blessings.

I hope I always remember the way you would lay on your back in the sand allowing the waves to crash around you with a huge grin on your face.

I hope I always remember how you would run through the house with your Lightning McQueen towel on your head like you were racing.

I hope I always remember the sheer excitement on your face and in your actions when you met Mickey Mouse, Buzz Lightyear, Goofy and Pluto.

I hope always remember how you refer to yourself in the third person.

I hope I always remember that by age 2 you had 10 professional haircuts and several non-professional.

I hope always remember how you line your bath toys up (particularly Thomas, Salty, and Percy) and ask daddy to give them a mohawk with bubbles.

I hope always remember you putting yourself in time out.

I hope I always remember how much you love to swing.

I hope I always remember how you love cottage cheese and spent many days asking to eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

I hope I always remember how much you loved the water slide at Seminole pool.

I hope I always remember how much you love playing with your cousin Eli and how he (and Isaac) take the time to interact with you.

I hope I always remember your struggle with staying in the church and gym nursery.

I hope I always remember you singing Holy, Holy, Holy, Happy Birthday, Thomas the Train Theme song, Bob the Builder, and He's Got the Whole World.

I hope I always remember the way you yelled, "No," while I sang, "This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine...hide it under a bucket..."

I hope I always remember the way you yelled, "Koo Koo and Dadder," when I would begin singing, "He's Got the Whole World..."

I hope I always remember you saying, "Uncle Ka-gul" for Uncle Kyle, "Crab 'il pinch you" for crab will pinch you, "Coco-rita" for Nova Lee, plus so many others.

I hope I always remember your fast growing vocabulary and the mild lisp you have that make so many words and phrases completely and totally adorable.

I hope I always remember your love of pizza.

I hope I always remember your full speed running to give daddy and I hugs.

I hope I always remember how much you adored Thomas the Train (specifically Kevin, Percy, Toby, and Diesel).

I hope I always remember your love of stickers and how they triggered your love of Cars and Toy Story characters (you really could care less about the movies).

I hope I always remember how much fun you have with bubbles in the tub and in your kiddie pool.

I hope I always remember how much sleep training helped us.

I hope I always remember your flat smile that reminds me so much of my own.

I hope I always remember your cries in the morning that immediately cease when I walk in the room and you say, "AWAKE!"

I hope I always remember how much you love and adore us.

Here is the "I Hope I Always Remember" post from his first year.

Ohh I love so much about this post! I love the pictures, love the sweet memories (especially the ten professional haircuts and him putting himself in timeout). I cannot believe how much he has grown since I first started following your blog!
