Death, Burial, Resurrection

After Jesus was resurrected He met with His disciples.  He gave them this command, "[G]o and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you..."  He left them with a command, but He also left them with a promise, with encouragement.  He said, "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."  (Matthew 28:19-20)

So as Christ followers, we are to:
  • Make disciples of all nations
  • Baptize them
  • Teach them to obey all Jesus commanded
And Jesus promises.......to be with us......ALWAYS!!!

This past weekend I was blessed to witness a Sunday full of baptisms.  My church has been walking through the Biblical reasons we, as believers in Christ, should be baptized.  Matthew 28:19-20 is evidence enough for me!!

I must say there is something very moving about observing baptisms. I did not know any of the people being baptized, but each one is my brother or sister (John 1:12-13).  We each have the Holy Spirit living in us (Acts 2:37-39).  We each are a part of the same body (1 Cor. 12:12-27).  We each are a new CREATION (2 Cor. 5:17)!!  All because Jesus Christ died for our sins and was resurrected again.

It is a blessing to be a part of the family of God.
