Christmas 2012: Part 1

We had an extended Christmas celebration that began in our home two Saturday's prior to Christmas.  We knew we would be packing for our trip to Nashville the weekend before Christmas, so we decided to open gifts and fix normal Christmas Morning Frittata a little early.

Then, the Friday evening prior to Christmas we celebrated with my in-laws.  We are blessed to eat dinner with my in-laws every Friday, but it was extra special to celebrate with them (and my husband's Grandmother) and to watch the kids open gifts.

We nephews love to wrestle.  They are 7 and 5 and have so much fun together.  It is a joy to watch their bond grow.  They often try to include Bennett, but he is not so sure about wrestling.  I have a feeling that won't last for long.  My nephews also love babies, especially Eli.  He was playing peek-a-boo with Zoe and she was very attentive.  She loves when Eli interacts with her.

This is what it looks like when you try to grab a quick snapshot of 6 kids that aren't really interested.

All 3 boys enjoy books.  Most Friday nights following dinner you will find them on Grandma's lap as she reads their books of choice.  However, Isaac can read now, so he will read to Bennett and Eli.

These two are nine months apart.  I see many tea parties, dress up time, mother-daughter role play among other things in their future.

Sam's Grandma Temple came to celebrate with us!!!!
Kyrie is such a happy girl with a contagious smile, but when she's not happy watch out for her HIGH PITCHED scream.......yowzeers!!!!

Zoe was fast asleep by the time we began opening presents, but everyone else was wide-eyed and ready to go.  Okay, maybe that better describes the kids.

Bennett has really been enjoying the Cootie Bug game he received from his Grandma and Grandpa.

We had a wonderful Christmas with my in-laws.  Our holiday celebrations vary from year to year due to our travels to spend time with my family, but my in-laws are always flexible and make our times together very special.

I'll post about our Christmas celebration with my family in Nashville soon.

I hope the next time your camera comes out when the family has gathered, Kyle stays in place long enough for you to capture him also :-) Your joy and skill in photography is such a gift to this mom!
