Journey of Faith Friday: God is my Rock

God is My Rock

The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer, my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,  my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
-Psalm 18:2

Often, I sit down with the computer unsure of what I will write.  The words begin to flow out of me so easily that even I am amazed.  Other times, God has placed the words in my heart long before I begin typing.  Today is another story...A story I don't have....A story, a truth I thought would flow so easily, but there is nothing.

God is my Rock!  In many different ways, He is the solid, firm foundation in which I stand.  However, this week while pondering and praising God for being my rock, I realized there may be NOTHING because I am spending to much time standing on the sand.  This week has been eye opening for me, because I have been tired and heavily immersed in photography, emailing, and blogging.  Don't get me wrong, I enjoy all of those things, that is why I do them, but if they have become my primary focus then I am out of balance.

So today, my journey of faith is this....God will always be my Rock, my Fortress, my Deliverer, because He is faithful to keep the promises He has made to me/to you.  Now, I am going to climb back on the Rock and spend time with the One whose promises are never forsaken.

I just wanted to share this with you.  This hymn instantly places my heart in a position of praise.  I have loved it since I was a little girl.

Being out of balance doesn't feel good - and isn't it wonderful that all we have to do is stop and call out His perfect name, and He draws us closer and we're back where we need to be. Thanks for sharing dear friend.

The rock and the sand. Sorry to do this, but here comes the Sci-fi Horror movie analogy...

It was the movie "Tremors" where these hungry giant worm things with big big teeth burrowed under the desert sand and had people happy meals. But...

If you stood on a rock in the desert they couldn't feel your vibrations - and they left you alone.

It was not safe on the sand - but was totally safe on the rock.

Just sayin'.

Sorry for getting all sci-fi on you. But what you wrote made me do it.

God Bless.
