To continue with 30 Days of Truth:

Day 2: Something you love about yourself.
Day 3: Something you have to forgive yourself for.
Day 4: Something you have to forgive someone for.
Day 5: Something you hope to do in your life.
Day 6: Something you hope you never have to do.
Day 7: Someone who has made your life worth living for.
Day 8: Someone who made your life hell, or treated you like shit.
Day 9: Someone you didn’t want to let go, but just drifted.
Day 10: Someone you need to let go, or wish you didn’t know.
Day 11: Something people seem to compliment you the most on.
Day 12: Something you never get compliments on.
Day 13: A band or artist that has gotten you through some tough ass days. (write a letter.)
Day 14: A hero that has let you down. (letter)
Day 15: Something or someone you couldn’t live without, because you’ve tried living without it.
Day 16: Someone or something you definitely could live without.
Day 17: A book you’ve read that changed your views on something.
Day 18: Your views on gay marriage.
Day 19: What do you think of religion? Or what do you think of politics?
Day 20: Your views on drugs and alcohol.
Day 21: (scenario) Your best friend is in a car accident and you two got into a fight an hour before. What do you do?
Day 22: Something you wish you hadn’t done in your life.
Day 23: Something you wish you had done in your life.
Day 24: Make a playlist to someone, and explain why you chose all the songs. (Just post the titles and artists and letter)
Day 25: The reason you believe you’re still alive today.
Day 26: Have you ever thought about giving up on life? If so, when and why?
Day 27: What’s the best thing going for you right now?
Day 28: What if you were pregnant or got someone pregnant, what would you do?
Day 29: Something you hope to change about yourself. And why.
Day 30: A letter to yourself: tell yourself EVERYTHING you love about yourself.

Day 2: Something you love about yourself

Is it just me or do most of you have an easier time saying something you don't like about yourself versus something you do?

I love that no matter how difficult times get and how I struggle to be positive I push through asking God to be my guide and my source of strength, making me more holy in the end.

I love that I am an honest person and am easily convicted about my wrong doing.

I love that I have the desire to be a leader.  I believe God has given me the gift of leadership in certain areas.

I love that I am athletic.

I love that I make traditions even if other people think they're silly.  I believe traditions can help build community and make families stronger.

Day 3:  Something you have to forgive yourself for

If I would have been asked to answer this question several years ago or even several months ago I would have had a laundry list, but today I can say I have forgiven myself for all of those things.

If I were to write something that is a continual struggle that I ask God to help me overcome on a daily basis it would be gossip.  Not only do I need God to forgive me, but I need to forgive myself.  All too often I fall into the gossip trap.  Then, I am overcome with guilt for days.  I know gossip is Satan's tool to plot people against one another and to create division; however, I can't blame it all on Satan.  My own flesh desires to be "in the know" and to gossip about what everyone around me is or is not doing.

When I constantly feel guilty about my shortcomings it prevents me from being able to fully accept God's forgiveness.

Day 4:  Something you have to forgive someone for

"To forgive is to set a prisoner free and discover the prisoner was you."
-Lewis B. Smedes. "Forgiveness-The Power to Change the Past," Christianity Today. 7 January 1983

Oh so true!!!!!

I have spent years forgiving people for the things they have done to hurt me.

Forgiveness is often times a daily act.

It is a choice.

You may not even realize you need to forgive until you begin digging deep into your soul and asking questions you've been avoiding for years.

This is a question I choose to answer while writing in my journal...while kneeling by the couch...while lying in my bed pouring out my heart to my husband.  Just know that my road of forgiveness began a long time ago and it continually leads me to freedom.

Day 5:  Something you hope to do in your life

  • Travel to Europe

Your blog has once again made me stop and think. I admire the openness that you have and find it a blessing to hear you talk about depending on Jesus in every day life.

I like what you wrote about forgiveness. I'm just coming into this, so I guess what you are doing is each day picking the item for that day and writing about it? Very good exercise. wb
