Multitude Monday XIV


I am thankful:

August 23, 2010

1011.  that despite Satan's attempts to rob me of joy God has prevailed.  He may win a few battles, but he is not winning the war.
1012.  for a nice dinner out with Sam and Bennett.  We ate free at Outback thanks to a coupon and gift card.
1013.  that I worked out today and had energy to spare
1014.  that today God gave me peace and removed the frustration I experienced over the weekend
1015.  for the rain that brought life back to our newly planted hibiscus
1016.  for fresh produce and veggies
1017.  for good lighting while photographing Bennett
1018.  that God sings over me
1019.  for time to calm my soul and again fall before God asking for forgiveness and restoration
1020.  for compassion

1021.  for truth
1022.  for God chipping away my flesh
1023.  for motivation and time to finally vacuum upstairs
1024.  that God provides
1025.  that God sustained me in the wee hours of the morning
1026.  that in my darkest hour God cares for me
1027.  for baby Anlon in  my arms
1028.  for a glass of wine shared with friends over dinner
1029.  that Natasha was able to bring me home from small group
1030.  for the lush green trees, shrubs, and grass after the rain

August 25, 2010

1031.  that I practiced rolling (onto his stomach) with Bennett.  We hope he will sleep better when he can roll back and forth independently.
1032.  for clean laundry
1033.  for finding my favorite salsa at Whole Foods-Artichoke Garlic!!  (I used to always buy it at Kroger in KY)
1034.  for reading "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child"




1035.  that God sustained me again today despite so few hours of sleep
1036.  for an email from my friend Kristen




1037.  for how hard Bennett makes me LAUGH when he's grunting to poop
1038.  for getting outdoors and enjoying the cool evening and the drizzling rain with my family
1039.  for buy one get one free smoothies at Smoothie King
1040.  that Bennett finally fell asleep on his back

1041.  that Bennett woke up from his naps peacefully today
1042.  that I was reminded of the importance of reading, so I made time today to not only read the Word, but to read for leisure
1043.  that I had peace today
1044.  that I am scheduled to work Saturday September 11th
1045.  that Bennett tried and liked Bananas 
1046.  for nursery rhymes and silly toddler songs (Thanks to Michelle for loaning us these CD's.  They are great!!!)




1047.  that Bennett sat in his car seat while we were in Target and didn't cry
1048.  for some time alone on the couch while Sam took Bennett for a walk
1049.  for Beth Moore, her faithfulness to God, and her impact on women of all ages
1050.  for how much joy Bennett gets from interacting with Sam and I

1051.  how Bennett calms down and listens when I read stories from "The Jesus Storybook Bible: Every Story Whispers His Name" (Thanks to the Kleinfeld's for buying us this book)




1052.  for taking family photos






1053.  for how easily entertained Sam and I are (ie. people watching at International Mall)
1054.  for tasty honeydew melon
1055.  for riding in the front passenger seat beside my husband vs. the back seat with Bennett
1056.  that Bennett looks so cute in the onesie's Sarah made/sent




1057.  that God is in control
1058.  for using "Journey of Faith Friday" to reflect on God's faithfulness

1061.  for a healthy, growing 5 month old baby boy




1062.  that I was able to fall asleep more easily last night and rest till 4:15 a.m. (Bennett didn't wake up for the first time till 6 a.m.)
1063.  a rare cool August morning allowing me to enjoy coffee and reading on the porch and a run
1064.  for all of the lizards I saw during my run.  God's creation is amazing.
1065.  for Bennett surprising us with a long afternoon nap
1066.  that my in-laws arrived home safe from Alaska
1067.  for a fun evening celebrating Bethany's birthday with friends over dinner















1068.  for conversation with Carolina
1069.  for my mom offering to mail some of Braxton's "hand-me-downs" to me 
1070.  that I have worked out 5 of the last 6 days

1071.  for Sergei, the Russian missionary, who spoke in Sunday school
1072.  that Bennett is well taken care of in the church nursery
1073.  that my dad had internet access and was able to view some videos of Bennett
1074.  for being born into a nation that was founded on Christian principles
1075.  for re-stocking our cabinets and fridge
1076.  for laying on the bed reading, relaxing, and praying
1077.  for thoughtful people
1078.  for a house full of men having a fantasy football draft
1079.  for the insight I am gaining while reading "Bringing Up Boys"
1080.  for doing the right thing even when I don't feel like it

I love your list this week- speciallly God's word, the artichoke garlic dip, healthy sleep habits (great book!), and the movie you recommended. Its hard to find good, clean movies now a days so thanks for recommending.

Oh and Steve and I just started reading bringing up boys and are really enjoying it.

Had such a relaxing and fun time Saturday. We should only get together more often!

That's one of the sleep books I'm reading for my dissertation! I'm mostly reading research studies (like about 90), but I'm also reading a few of the mainstream sleep books to compare what's out there for public consumption with what the current research supports. I get some funny looks carrying around a stack of infant books and no baby. Can I borrow Bennett sometime? ;)
