The common holiday post. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!!!

When we lived in Kentucky we would run the Bluegrass 10K on the morning of the 4th, then have a cookout later in the afternoon.  One of Sam's previous roommates was a part of more Independence Day cookouts than I, so needless to say we were blessed to have Josh and Brittany (B2) join us, here in Florida on the 4th.  They were vacationing in Orlando and had planned to come have brunch with us before heading on to the beach.  However, due to the rain we not only had them for brunch, but for most of the afternoon.  YAY!!!!!

Sam and I got up and made a frittata (Aubrey a post is coming your way soon), some waffles, and coffee while awaiting the arrival of Josh and B2.  They arrived.  We chatted.  We ate. They met Bennett.  We chatted some more.  We drank coffee.  Josh held Bennett (Yes, it's a big deal).  We laughed.  We made guacamole.  Okay, they made guacamole.  I watched.  We ate guacamole.  We chatted and laughed, chatted and laughed.  We hugged.  They left.  We thanked God for their visit.  There are few things I enjoy more than conversation and laughter with friends, especially friends you haven't seen in a while.

After Josh and B2 left we got in the car and were on our way to the Ross's for an evening cookout.  Our entire evening was spent indoors due to the rain, but we had a great time anyway.  It has been such a blessing to have so many wonderful friends here in Tampa.  Tampa has become home to us due to the friends we have made.

No fireworks for us.  We are in the phase of life where we just pray the fireworks won't wake our sleeping baby.  He stirred a few times, but for the most part he slept right through all of the noise.

I HOPE ALL OF YOU HAD A WONDERFUL JULY 4th!!

I am so thankful for all of the freedoms we experience in our great nation.

Amber...I just have to say that your stomach looks really flat. I'm way impressed! And I'm also coveting your kitchen island. Omar and I both hope our next kitchen has one.

Amber, I have perused these pics several times, enjoying you enjoying your friends. B2 and Josh look happy...the photos of them engaging Bennett are precious. Thanks for sharing the photos.

Some very nice couple pics and fun buddy shots. The group photo with Kindra's baby belly silhouetted and the dog looking up at you is just fun. So glad for the blessing of friends in your life.

looks like you had a lot of company and FUN! how nice to have friends that look like they're in the same "stage" in their life with babies and some on the way... one of my small fears about having kids soon is that none of our friends do and I need to SOCIALIZE and talk with others who know what i'm going through - whatever it may be =) haha! I know God will provide for even those vain fears...

glad you had a happy 4th and check your email later today!
