A Nice Surprise

Tuesday morning while driving to work I had some sweet time to reflect, pray, and worship. It was one of those mornings with the Lord that felt like a quiet walk on the beach. A refreshing vacation. A cool, rainy afternoon on the couch with the windows open. A cup of coffee by the fire when snow is falling. A time of connectedness, sincerity, and thanksgiving. During my conversation with God I prayed about many things, but particularly about peace and confidence surrounding our house hunt. It felt good to let it go. I had let it go before, only to snatch it back up again like a child stealing a toy from a sibling. I acknowledged that God, my Father, was in control and could see many days and years ahead of me. I acknowledged that God had given me more blessings than I could ever have imagined. I acknowledged the benefits of Samber's current situation and how we have grown closer together. Amoung many other things, I, again, prayed for a house to call home. A house where our finances would be used most effectively. A house in a neighborhood where we could minister to those around us. A house where we could best use the gifts God has given us. A house we could use for fellowship with other Christ followers. My heart felt full of peace and joy.

I entered work and that "quiet walk on the beach" feeling was whisked away by many monitors beeping, nurses chattering, patients wondering, and a schedule waiting to be filled up. After a busy morning, lunch, and a few patients in the afternoon I looked at my phone. Hmmmmm, three new text messages. Two were from Sam. The first one read, "First offer fell through on Cleveland and we are getting it! Our offer was accepted!! I am going to get them a cashiers check for the earnest money right now!! Praise the Lord!!!!" The second one read, "Seriously! How sweet is that?" I thought I would fall out of my chair!!!! I was so excited I didn't know whether to scream, jump up in the air, or sit and stare in amazement. I sat and stared for a few moments, then began repeating I can't believe it, oh my goodness. I forgot about the patient sitting to my right, who did not share my same excitement when told the news. The rest of the day I was glowing and praising God for another heartbreak turned to blessing.

The Cleveland house is the one I wrote about last week. It is in South Tampa on Cleveland street. It is very close to Sam's work, close to church, close to a 5 mile water front running/bike trail, close to the interstate, 20-30 minutes to the beach, and in a good school district. Now we pray the inspections go well, so that we can close on July 10th!

Here are a few photos for your enjoyment.

Congrats, you two! Enjoy it and give it back to the one who gave it. I know you will be a spectacular hostess! Maybe someday I can see it up close (wink wink)!
