Like Mother, Like Son....why not?

Bennett is a little out of focus, but
I just love that Bennett and I have the same expression in this photo.

BEFORE
AFTER
I used PSE 8 to edit this photo.  I cropped it, so our expressions were more easily seen.  However, I have several similar photos that I like full length.  Then I added an adjustment and threshold layer to adjust the black and white color levels before flattening the image.  I adjusted the midtones, sharpened and brightened it up a bit.  Then I added a soft light layer at 28% opacity.

After sleeping on it, I woke up and decided my skin was toooooo red!!  I used TheCoffeeShop's Baby Powder Room to even out my skin tones and brighten our eyes a little.

I am not fully satisfied with this edit.  I tried it in black and white and some various vintage affects, but I kept coming back to the original color.  Any suggestions?

This weeks theme over at the Paper Mama is to capture your children doing something "fallish."
This may be a stretch, but I am used to Kentucky, so I haven't adjusted "fallish" activity here in
South Florida...maybe next year.
However, we are leaving for Kentucky today, so I will have tons of "fallish" photos next week, but the Paper Mama will be on to a new challenge.
When you look at this picture try to image ME slaving in the kitchen baking homemade apple pies while drinking homemade apple cider with fall candles burning and pumpkins in the floor waiting to be carved.

Except I wasn't doing any of those things.  Bennett just wanted to play with apples and I thought it was cute, so I do what I do:  I took a picture or maybe 5 or 10 or 20.

What great expressions on both of your faces. The crop I love as it really does let us see those expressions up close. I'm no expert at all on photo editing and little experience with people in photographs and skin as I am more of a nature photographer but I would be happy with it just the way it is now.

I really really like the close up one in color! Your expressions and the color of your dress with the red on the wall - amazing! You need to frame it!

I really need to learn to edit! It looks fun!
