If my life were a book......

I sometimes wonder, "If my life were a book, how would I name the chapters?"  Here are some thoughts:

Chapter I:  Curiously Dependent (ages 0-5)

Chapter II:  Mom, Can I ...? (ages 6-10)

Chapter III:  Whatever!! (ages 11-15)
    or
    I'm so cool!!
    or
                  Chubby to Charming

Chapter IV:  Rivalry, Rejection, and Rebellion (ages 16-20)

Chapter V:  A Redeemed Rebel (ages 21-25)

Chapter VI:  Waiting for love.  FINALLY!! (ages 26-30)

Chapter VII:  The verdict is still out..............

When you are in the midst of each chapter of life it seems there could be a different title every year, sometimes every month, so this is just my rough draft.

I enjoy reflecting on my life.  The childhood memories.  The people I have met.  The experiences that have changed me.  The brokenness God has redeemed.  The joy of my college years.  The highs, the lows and everything in between.  Reflecting helps me remember that God is faithful, that He is sovereign, that He redeems the worst of situations, and that He wants us to experience the joy of Jesus in this life.  When I am in the midst of a storm I may not feel that He is faithful.  When the world is filled with pain and sorrow I may not feel that He is sovereign.  When I have been hurt or rejected I may not feel that He redeems.  When days seem long, hard, and empty I may not feel that He wants me to experience joy, but reflection allows me to see what God has done in my life regardless of how I am (or was) feeling.

Over the next few months I hope to begin writing a few stories/memories that will fill the pages of each chapter of my life.  Some will be funny.  Some will be sad.  Some will put a smile on your face.  Some will make you cry.  But hopefully all of them will cause you to reflect.
